“Dedicated to Single mothers”
This is dedicated to the single mother. The mother who is unable to tap out on her bad days. For the ones who often go to bed at night in tears, unsure of how they are going to make it through another overwhelming and exhausting day. This is for the ones who contemplate their dreams because they feel out of reach while raising a child alone. This post is dedicated to the single mother who is anxious and stressed, making solo decisions, feeling as if they are the only ones wholly invested in their child’s life. This is for those struggling financially. The single mother with $0.00 in her bank account but wakes up every day with a smile on her face and will never allow her child to see her struggling. This is for you, the single mother who has hit rock bottom and has overcome every challenge that felt like it was going to break her. This is for the single mother who cracks jokes to take the pain away from how they feel. This post is dedicated to you.
I hope you find the abundance of strength already within you to make it through each day. Trust me. It is there. You just need to find it. I pray that you never give up on your dreams and continue to accomplish every goal you have. Your child deserves a mother they can brag about! Dreams don’t end at motherhood; this is the beginning. I ask that you give yourself some grace. We are not superhuman. Parenting is a job created for two. We carry a heavy load, and it is okay to want to put it down. It is okay to cry; it is okay not to be okay.
In times like this, I pray that you reach out. Don’t be afraid or ashamed to ask for help. It takes a village to raise a child, and your mental health is critical. You are a strong woman. Regardless of your pain or struggle, each day, you choose to wake up with a smile on your face. Yes, you have made every decision alone, but you have made each decision with your heart. And, that is all the matters. You are strong because you managed to pick yourself up from rock bottom, despite your circumstances. You have overcome every challenge to date. Each challenge did not break you. You did not give up, and you should be proud.
You are amazing, and you are beautiful. Give yourself credit today, Pat yourself on the back or hug yourself. If I could do it for you, I would. I see your strength, and I know you are brave. I see you hustling, and I am proud. I see the smile you put on your children’s face, and that is worth more than anything in this world. Thank you! For not giving up. Keep working hard. Don’t ever give up on your dreams and strive for greatness.
Happy Mother’s Day!
This is beautifully written. You are a strong and beautiful woman. God continue to bless and guide you!

I am absolutely grateful for my mother. I am grateful for all the women figures in my life. I am grateful for the good things and bad things I’ve seen women go through. I am grateful for Black Women’s history. I am happy to see my sisters, my cousins and friends be the best mothers they can be for their children. I am grateful for the mother who accepts their faults and continue to try for their children. Keep ya head up Ma!
