My favourite part about self-care is indulging in a great glowing skincare routine. In a previous blog (5 ways to improve your mental health and manage stress 2020), I mentioned that over the pandemic, I took full advantage of my self-care, focusing on improving my skincare routine. I implemented a new skincare routine and started to invest in some new products that compliment my skin’s needs. Overall, I feel that I have good skin. However, I struggle with some pimples here and there on my forehead, around my menstrual cycle and when I consume too much sugar (I blame Moscato and candy). Completing my skincare routine is relaxing and soothing, especially at the end of these stressful days. Our face is a place where we can hold a lot of tension, so it is nice to focus on that part of my body at the end of the day.
Today, I am going to share with you guys a few of my favourite skincare products.
Skinceuticals LHA Cleanser: An aesthetician recommended this cleanser, and I love it. It exfoliates, decongests pores, smooths skin and brightens skin.
Nivea, Essential 24H Moisturizer Boost + Nourish Day Cream SPF15: I have been using this product for years. SPF is essential, and it profoundly replenishes the skin’s moisture barrier.
Fresh, Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydrating Moisturizer: I love this product. Super hydrating and lightweight. I use it mainly at night.
The Ordinary: Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5: I have two others from different brands; they are all the same. The Ordinary has a thick consistency. It is a hydrating formula, great for those winter months that cause dry skin.
The Ordinary: Mandelic Acid 10% +HA: I have been using this for a while to help tackle blemishes and acne. It works well for me.
Rosewater: Rosewater is a great hydrating natural toner. It improves complexion and is antibacterial, which helps reduce acne.
